WHY CONDITIONS MATTER Every great dive starts with knowing the water.

Know before you go underwater.

Choose a coast, separate beach water from offshore reefs, and see the measured, forecast and modeled signals behind one clear dive-day decision.

WHY THIS RESULT

What is driving visibility?

The model will explain which live inputs are helping or hurting once the feeds respond.

How the visibility estimate works

EXPERIMENTAL v0.2

CURRENT MODEL

42% waves+24% wind+18% tide+16% thunder

The available inputs are reweighted when a feed is missing, then confidence drops. Offshore and beach ranges use different visibility mappings; beach water gets extra penalties for surf and onshore wind.

GO Score ≥ 78 · low waves · wind ≤ 12 kt · thunder < 40% WATCH Mixed but potentially usable conditions HOLD Critical data missing or stale

CALIBRATION ROADMAP

Visibility is not an official NOAA observation. The accuracy tally below pairs a verified physical report with the most recent prior prediction—not with a prediction created after the dive.

MODEL ACCOUNTABILITY

Prediction history vs actual visibility

The site saves one prediction snapshot per half hour. When a captain, diver or operator enters a measured physical report, it is matched to the most recent prediction made before that observation.

MATCHED REPORTS—Waiting for history
RANGE HIT RATE—Actual fell inside predicted range
